That’s actually a myth, they hunt more than they scavenge. It’s actually more common for Lions to steal from Hyenas.

U know the hatred of lions toward hyenas seems to be in the genes. For example, check out video Lion Whisperer, this guy raised Lions and Hyenas together. In the video the hyena starts playing with lions but the lions start to get pissed and the guy has to carry the hyena away LOL.

this is an awesome show of power by the lion but also thats one brave hyena,though the mud probably made it trickier for the male lion to get in a quick killing bite.

It’s too bad that most of you out there hate the Hyenas. Wich other clan or group of another species, has the guts to challenge the mighty lions? So Hyenas gang up on their enemies. Lions do the same. Hyenas have bigger numbers, but they’re smaller than lions. It’s still fairly balanced. I love all cats, but the hyena still deserves a lot of respect.
